I'm looking at the 3Doodler pen, but would appreciate feedback about different ones too.

Is it worth it? Or will it be a PITB for my kids to use independently?

No experience, but I ordered the MYNT pen for DS1. I looked at the 3Doodler and it uses thicker plastic than the others and I worried that having to buy their specific refills would be pricey.

Do you think your DS2 could use it? He's my DDs' age it looks like. The MYNT pen definitely seems like a good (and more cost effective in the long run) option, but the other pen seems simpler to use.

I agree that the 3Doodler does seem simpler, plus it hides the hot parts so safer. I'd probably buy that for my DS2.

We got this for my son last year and it has sat untouched for about 11 months. It was difficult for him to use (he's 7) and often got plugged which I think was discouraging for us to use it because it was such a pain.

Ugh, thanks. Maybe I'll skip. One of my DDs is very easily frustrated, this sounds like it may not be the gadget for us.
