Anyone BTDT? What's good about it, what did you not like? We have been using 'the standard days method' for birth control, but I really just want AF to go away. I really don't want an IUD. I figure if I am going to get a long acting birth control, I better do it soon...before the ACA is gone. TIA!

I have the mirena. No complaints. I love not having periods. Lots of cramping upon implementation and for the first week. Now I get cramps once a month and VERY MILD spotting. Barely none.

I don't have any experience with implants, but have had a copper IUD for several years and have been very happy with it.

Perhaps a bit off-topic, but why don't you want to get an IUD?

I used to work at a hospital and saw quite a few surgeries scheduled (at least once a week) because IUDs perforated the uterus. I know the actual numbers are small, but I saw it enough that I really don't want one.

Not personal experience, but because I teach a large university health class this comes up from time to time in my class. Several students have told me they have it and all have been very happy with it.
