I'm not seeing a thread on this and could use a little BBB traffic today to distract me.

I'll admit I was multi-tasking during the superbowl and with multiple conversations in the room had a tough time seeing them all, but found myself underwhelmed at the ads I saw.

I did love the Audi "daughter" commercial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6u10YPk_34

Anybody else?

I didn't see many of them, but what I did see wasn't that great. IMO, the last few years haven't had too many great ones. I agree with you about the Audi commercial.

I was also underwhelmed. I liked the one that showed people and things getting stuck (bball, cat in tissue box, child in shirt) and then unstuck. The funny thing is that I don't remember what brand of car it was for!

DS said his favorite commercial was the Hyundai troops ad - and I totally agree. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4R2sjU3oRo

Thank goodness the T-Mobile s&m commericals went over his head.

Many of the commercials weren't even new.

The one where the guy took the pancake from the dog was the first one we liked. Poor puppy.

I liked that one too. I think it was for Ford.

Tom Brady? ;)

The kitty litter one surprised me. I mean, I cannot see spending that kind of money on a Super Bowl ad for kitty litter!!

The Ford one was good, but yeah, the second time it rolled around, I realized I'd totally forgotten what it was FOR, which is kind of a fail.

I loved the Audi S8 one with the girl driving the go cart, which was perfect timing because DH and I were taking about our anniversary plans (our 14th is Wednesday) and years ago when DH and I were dating and DH was finishing his degree in engineering I told him I wanted him to build me a go kart; almost 20 yrs. later I have still don't have go cart.

The Ford one was good, but I didn't see it the second time around.

Hyuandai troops was great and then they followed up at the end of the game (or maybe that was an NFL promo, I was trying to round up the kids).

I didn't notice the TMobile S&M one, but thought the first Bieber one was okay.

The Tiffany lead in to Lady Gagas halftime show was interesting, but not awful.

People on my FB feed were creeped out by the Mr. Clean one, but I thought it was kind of funny. Maybe I am okay with my perverse sense of humor.

I liked the Garth Brooks Friends in Low Places parody at the end of the pregame show, but I want to watch it again on YouTube because we were watching the super bowl in a hall at a church and it was kind of hard to hear some of the commercials, and pregame stuff.

I forgot about the Mr. Clean ad, I definitey laughed at that one. I was surprised they didn't have this year's Mr. Clean in it, though:

I missed the kitty litter one, I'll have to look that up. Same with the puppy/pancake

The ford - nobody likes to be stuck one was funny. The kid on the big wheel reminded me of my baby brother when we were little. And the kid stuck in the shirt falling over in the bathroom is totally DD. She even said, "oh, I've done that" when it happened. hysterical.

The 84Lumber commercial (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/early-lead/wp/2017/02/04/company-re-tools-rejected-super-bowl-ad-but-you-can-still-see-the-original/?utm_term=.ba5a1e094cda) had us all on the edge of our seat and weepy. I thought it was powerful and unusually hard-hitting.

I liked Air BnB's as well. Loved Audi's (although the choice of words was completely alarming to my almost 11 year old who has a working mama working for an almost all-female employer and two powerhouse working grandmas - I wish they had phrased it differently with the same visuals and message).

Didn't see many of the others. The Budweiser one making the rounds before Superbowl seemed alright, I don't really get why it should be controversial. Isn't that the American dream - entering the country poor and hungry but hardworking as they come, and working your way up to success?

i thought there were many great ones (Anheuser-Busch, 84 Lumber, Hyundai and the Ford one of people getting unstuck), but hands-down my favorite one was the Audi commercial. That one almost brought me to tears, because yes, as a parent, of a girl and a boy, i think of these things often. Of course a local state rep was immediately Tweeting about how he thought the Audi commercial was so awful, because women getting paid less is a myth, and the commercial "alienated half of the country" and "nobody wants to hear about politics at this time" :(

i thought it was cool how Coca Cola re-ran their ad from 2014. People kept saying it was one of the "controversial" ones that promoted diversity, and i'm pretty sure it dn't get as much reaction/criticism 3 years ago. interesting how diversity is seen as something controversial.

My kids both said their favorite one was the one with "Humpty Dumpty in the hospital." LOL..that one was for turbotax.

I didn't see many but DH and I both loved the Humpty Dumpty ad. I also love that Coke commercial. I didn't see the Audi one but have heard great things. I want to see the end of the 84 Lumber commercial.

If you are a Patriots fan, this was by far the best commercial!

Background: In the ad that aired in the weeks before the Super Bowl, the tech asks Brady if that's it and he says, "For now." I nearly fell off the chair when this one came on!

The only one that stuck with me this year was the one for Bai. Heck, I'm still not sure what Bai is, but I know their brand name! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Di1kqa6fiE

I really liked the 84 Lumber commercial until I read this:

http://www.latinorebels.com/2017/02/06/why-people-should-just-pause-for-a-minute-and-not-blindly-celebrate-84-lumbers-immigration-ad/

The Alfa Romeo commercial really bugged me because it had such gender stereotypes (little boy driving the racecar, girl as ballerina).

I really liked the Buschhhhhhhhhhhhhh commercial, simple and understated and made me smile :)

Oh yeah that one was good too. Bai is a vitamin water type drink, it is okay but I don't know if I would buy it on my own; someone brought it to a work potluck.

Oh and I was somewhat intrigued by the Baywatch movie preview....Zac Efron looked pretty good.

I saw that about the 84 Lumber commercial and I also read what the founder wrote, which was far more nuanced and human than that. (Dan Rather's News and Guts had posted this article to accompany their Facebook discussion about this ad: https://www.bustle.com/p/the-full-version-of-the-84-lumber-super-bowl-commercial-didnt-offend-its-trump-supporting-owner-35829) I still think the ad is very touching, it humanizes migrants and is a stark contrast to the "rapists and killers" nonsense statements made by candidate Trump about Mexican immigrants.
