Thinking of replacing our our very basic metal wood burning fire pit with a gas model as I think we would use it more frequently. Any recommendations?

Grand Effects has an excellent reputation, but they are expensive. http://grandeffectsinc.com/fire-feature/fire-pits

I started looking at them recently and even though I prefer the look of a lower fire, I decided we'll need to get the taller design to make sure the propane tank is concealed. So my tip is to consider the tank storage when shopping. And I guess you can swap out stones for glass if you don't care for the material in the bowl of the fire pit you purchase.

We've had this one for a few years now and love it! We leave it outside year round and just cover it with a tarp in the winter. https://smile.amazon.com/Endless-Summer-GAD860SP-Outdoor-Firebowl/dp/B0017I8RRW/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1487463143&sr=8-13&keywords=gas+fire+pit
