Any recommendations for magazine subscription for a 8-9 year old girl?

DDs favorite is Spider from the cricket line of magazines. We've also had subscriptions to Ask and Faces but she prefers Spider. You can switch magazines mid-subscription.

Does she like science? Make magazine, Popular Science, Popular Mechanics.... I don't see why a girl wouldn't like those.

OP here. Thank you all.
She likes to read about animals and places around the world. She's into craft activities.

My 10 yr. old has been getting American Girl since she was 8.5 yrs. old. She loves the crafts and quizzes in the magazines, as well as the ideas to use with her dolls. My 8 yr. old still enjoys Nat. Geo kids and is currently getting a dinosaur themed Zoo Books (she loves dinosaurs, but would probably enjoy the regular ZooBooks as well). The 8yr. old also enjoys looking at her sister's American Girl magazines and will sometimes check them out from the library.
