We're putting the washing machine/dryer/stove/dishwasher in the garage during a remodel as reusing them. I've got old sheets, but thought maybe I should invest in canvas drop cloths or something like that. We have 1 complete wall of cabinets in the garage that we're moving contents to garden shed/storage pod in garage - thought we should put dishes, wine glasses, any breakable nick knacks in the cabinets so don't have to box up and risk getting broken (read about putting breakables in a linen closet, but our closet is part of remodel).

Any other advice?

Ugh...we're crazy to be doing this..so much to pack up.

Thanks.

I think the sheets should be fine for covering and moving the kitchen/breakables to the cabinets sounds good also. I would also inventory what you have as you put it away for insurance purposes in case something gets damaged, etc.
