6yo and reflux?

We think 6yo DC might have reflux. We will call pedi, but how is it diagnosed/treated at this age? We don't want any invasive tests. Anyone BTDT at this age? We think it's reflux bc we have been hearing the telltale gurgling sound in DC's throat and DC has been doing a lot of throat clearing. (DH has bad reflux.)

DS had infant reflux and then a bout of it again when he was in kindergarten. We treated for 8 weeks with OTC Prilosec, which the ped recommended without any testing. Is your DC in pain at all?

Keep track of food. I wouldn't say I have reflux that needs treatment...I just need to not eat green peppers. DOn't go climbing a molehill without doing something simple like seeing if there's a simple food or foods you can easily avoid. I wouldn't go calling the Dr. either. It's (very likely) not an urgent problem. You can wait til her checkup.
