I had a filling replaced over a week ago. My jaw still aches really badly. I have had to take Advil or Tylenol every day. I'm needing it less and less, but it still really hurts. I have a high pain tolerance and didn't even take anything when I had a dry socket after my wisdom teeth were removed. I don't think it's the actual tooth because I can chew on it and the tooth itself doesn't hurt. I called the dentist and they told me to give it two weeks and then to come in. My jaw joint hurts and then the ache radiates to the top and bottom. After the novocaine wore off that morning, I couldn't even open my mouth wide enough to eat a sandwich, but that has gotten better. Has anyone had this happen before? It seems like having my mouth open for an hour has done something to my jaw.
