I'm having a small party on Friday for friends to just drop in and check out Scentsy. I have a friend that sells it and having a party on St. Patrick's Day and near my birthday sounded really fun.

I'm planning on serving Mint Juleps (virgin) to drink, making gorgonzola pear salad, and some chocolate cupcakes with green icing. I can make all these things easily and I like them. But I need more food! It doesn't HAVE to be green or Irish but that is the theme. I must add, I'm not a fan of corned beef or cabbage! Got any great ideas?

Pinterest has tons of ideas. Check there.

Most of my green food ideas are more for kids

Thank you. I've been looking there. It seems like so many things are so very complicated! I should add I'm not terribly skilled which is why I'm happy with my menu right now. I know I can make all of it. :) Yeah, lots of the ideas are for kids.

I guess I'm trying to figure out what else might be appetizing with what I have already. Maybe a salsa verde and some kind of chips?

Irish soda bread to serve with the salad? Can easily be store bought.

Spinach cheese rolls? Something like this: http://createbakemake.com/2015/09/30/easy-spinach-and-ricotta-rolls/ (have not made those myself, but they look pretty tasty and simple to pull together).

How about Irish Stew? Or are you mainly going for appetizers and salads? Something with pesto to make it green, like crostini with pesto? Mini sandwiches cut into shamrock shapes?

Spanokopita? the frozen appetizers you put in the oven. They are easy and green.

This is what I would do rather than green food. Easy to buy, but if you want to make yourself this (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/irish-soda-bread-recipe) is an easy non-traditional one I've made before. Can use raisins.

Those are all great ideas but both spanakopita and guacamole are things I eat often and that I love! I guess this will end up being a rather international St. Patrick's Day but it will be delicious. Thank you for your ideas. :)

Are you just doing appetizers or dinner? I would do some Irish cheese w/ crackers and sofa bread which is very yummy! Maybe little potatoes? I've seen potato appetizers done with the little redskin or Yukon golds, almost like mini stuffed baked potatoes. Or you could do a potato soup to go with your salad.

Cucumber dill sandwiches on rye cocktail bread are always a hit!
