Updated/ETA: Does anyone use a parental control app and have limited or no data on your child's phone? I still haven't figured this out. I really don't want to pay a whole lot for data, so I am trying to figure out how much these apps need.
Thanks!

If you use a parental control app on your child's phone, which is it and how much data do you need to run the phone on the app?

I am looking into Questido, but can't find any info on how much data is needed on the phone (I did e-mail them), but interested in others as well.

thanks!

I took a look on the iPhone App Store but it didn't say. They did link to their Facebook page. I think you'd be far better off posting your question there than emailing.
It didn't get great reviews though.

I use OurPact, and I'm happy with it, but I don't know how much data it uses. It's an all-or-nothing program, though. It turns third party apps on and off on a schedule or by remote link from the parent phone.

I am fine with it turning everything off...except phone calls and texts.

My kids don't have cellular service or use their phones for texting, but I'm pretty sure those would still be usable. Those apps remain as do the timer and music functions. Safari disappears as do third party apps like games.

We have used Screen time. We used an older version that was free. It is now a subscription, so I don't know if that works for you. Anyway, we use it on on-cellular devices, so it does not NEED data.

Thanks, o mom. I am fine with paying for a subscription, but it doesn't look like Screen time monitors texts.

I have friend who loves Circle. Her kids aren't using cell phones yet though. Looking at Circle go, you can monitor time on each app, but not content (such as texts)
