I am trying to remember the name of a hotel in Manhattan that got my attention for some of its breakfast/brunch items, but my memory of details is so generic that it's almost laughable. But, here goes....

I read about this hotel two years or so on the internet, probably on a "best of" list or a food channel website. It was an upscale, elegant hotel, with a very nice website, photos of a resaurant with big windows and lots of glassware. IN reading the menu, a breakfast or brunch item that caught my attention was some kind of waffle or French toast option... maybe with coconut, maybe just stuffed french toast, something. The only slight distinguishing feature is that the hotel had a cookbook, also kind of elegant and refined, and I remember thinking, "Maybe I could just buy the cookbook and use their recipe for that waffles/French toast/whatever."

I am going to NY at the end of the month, by myself, which is a doubly rare event. I will have a whole Saturday to myself before meeting up with a friend in the late evening. I'd love to figure out this hotel restaurant eat that item that I never thought I'd be in a position to enjoy.

Norma's was the first place I thought of when you said NY/hotel/breakfast.

The hotel name Parker Meridien seemed right, but the restauarnt name Norma's and their goofy, playful marketing does not I remember elegant being the main concept of the website and photography. Maybe there are other Meridien hotels in NYC that I should google.

The breakfast menu does seem good, but man, $29 for blueberry pancakes with Devonshire cream? Maybe I am just in for a shock with NYC prices, but I don't recall dinner prices seeming so much higher than I was used to when I was last in NYC in 2013. That's a high price for blueberry pancakes.

I frequent brunchy type of places in the city with my girlfriends or DH alone, either at stand alone restaurants or within hotels. The price is expensive, but isn't shockingly so for brunchy prices though. Very few is under 20!
