Buying tile - same lots? Sequential box numbers? Anything else

I'm buying the tile for our new laundry room myself at a Big Box Store. Do I need to make sure the lot numbers are the same? How about sequential box numbers? I've been trying to work it out, and know someone here will know.

We completely remodeled our old house and changed flooring in our current house and this never came up. Your contractor should mix tiles from different boxes so any variation is spread out and shouldn't be noticeable. Make sure to buy a bit more than you need just in case it ends up discontinued. We always keep extra tiles in case something needs to be repaired in the future.

We remodeled 2 bathrooms recently, and our contractor told us to make sure the boxes were from the same lot (for both floors and shower tiles). That's so the colors are the same. They opened all the boxes and mixed tiles from all the boxes. We have a few of each tile left as spares in case we need to replace any of them.
