Is she reading about on grade level? I. A teacher and I don't understand what level 4 correlates to either. Guided reading is letters as is PALS, DRA levels are numbers but no way would a second grader be a 4- she'd be in the mid 20's at this point.
If she's a typical second grader, my second grade students seem to love A to Z mysteries, capitol mysteries, Mercy Watson, many still love Julie B Jones and magic tree house.

Thanks all sorry for the confusion. She is in kindergarten. I'm all set though and found some books to buy. I hope they are the appropriate reading level since I just went by some past threads I found for 2nd graders.

If she's in kindergarten, it's probably the I can Read type of books. We rarely bought those because they were so short, in general. Longer ones were Henry and Mudge, Frog and Toad.

If she's in K but reading at 2nd grade level, then it would be early chapter books like nfowife suggestions.

The puppy place novels were dd's favorite early chapter books.
