19 month old DS was just prescribed zofran. Directions say to dissolve by oral route. How the heck do I do that? Thanks!

the tablet just dissolves in your mouth (no chewing or swallowing it).

may be hard for toddler to understand though (plus may taste a bit gross, especially for a kid). my DS was 6yo at the time when he had to take it, and nurse just told him to let it "melt" in his mouth. it worked fairly well. luckily for him he didn't mind the taste of it as it was dissolving.

hope your little one feels better soon! i have too much personal experience using zofran (both pregnancies). i'm glad for it though bc it did help.

So should I just stick it in his mouth and try to keep him from spitting it out until it dissolves? He is not very cooperative for most things...should be interesting.

i think for toddlers/kids they say to place it under the tongue so they can't spit it out or swallow it. it's a really small tablet so hopefully he y wouldn't notice as much.

I agree with this. It's small and melts pretty fast, in my experience. It was a lifesaver for us with my DD. She called them her magic pills! :D

I've taken them. I would put under his tongue and then distract him right away so he doesn't notice the taste, which isn't very bad, just tastes kind of chalky to me.
