Looking to get DD1 a new ipad as the one she has is a 16Gb and there is no room on it for what she needs. She uses a speech/communication app and loves watching home videos and social stories to help her learn how to do things and remember steps in certain tasks. That really leaves no room for any education games. So for her birthday she is getting money from relatives to help towards the purchase of either a 64GB or 128Gb ipad mini 4. is that the best one? she currently has an ipad mini 2 and the battery on it is terrible. Her birthday is in 2 weeks so I don't have too long to try to find a deal. I would rather stick with the mini that the regular size because it fits nicely in my purse when we take it along with us.

I have 64GB Mini 4, which replaced my first-generation Mini. I love the size and have found the battery life to be very good.

buy refurbished from Apple. I have a 32 gig iPad Mini 1. It comes with same great warranty as any other Apple product and when mine needed replacing within a week of purchase I got a brand new one as an exchange.

Best Buy has the iPad Mini 4 (wifi only) 128gb for $299.99, which is the cheapest price I've seen. That is $100 off the retail price. I bought mine from Target, had them price match Best Buy, and got an additional 5% off with my Target red card. I got mine a few weeks ago during the Memorial Day $299.99 sale price at Best Buy. It is on sale again right now at Best Buy for $299.99. Not sure what Best Buy's sale cycle is, so the deal could end today or in a week. Target has a longer return period than Best Buy's two week period, I think. I think with Target you get 30 days for electronics returns.
