Is your bed upholstered?

Question says it all - Is your bed upholstered? (versus wood or metal) I've always wanted an upholstered bed but have never bought one because I feel like they could get dirty from leaning against it (hair products) or, worst case, if someone was vomiting. :( I am going to redo the master bedroom though and am thinking of going for an upholstered bed. Pros/cons?

No. Wood here. I can see the hesitation with upholstery.

Yes. I love mine. It's only a year old but I haven't worried about it getting dirty. Maybe if I had a toddler or infant? We lean against pillows, not the headboard and well, we've had a stomach flu or two with no issues (buckets, older kids are good with buckets).

I've had this velvet tufted headboard for over 4 years now and it still looks brand new like the day I got it. No issues at all. But yes, I lean against it with pillows (big European shams). I would not have gotten it if it only came in a hard to take care if fabric like linen.

I like the look, but it doesn't suit our style.

Also ... I have dust allergies. Additional fabric in my bedroom would be a real problem for me.

Would have loved one! But maybe when my boys are older, as both suffer from severe dust allergies. I do but milder, it's what put me off as between pollen, dust/dander and sinus I'm afraid I won't sleep well if I end up with the bed upholstered!
