In no particular order:

Shawshank Redemption
Bridget Jones' Diary
Back to the Future

Is it okay to have some honorable mentions? I really, really liked the last two Captain America movies (Winter Soldier and Civil War) and the latest Spiderman (Homecoming).

Roman Holiday
Harry Potter - Sorcerer's Stone
It's a toss up between American President and Dave.

I also really like Avatar because it's probably my older kids' fave. No one scatters to other rooms so it's a cuddle movie. ❤️

In no particular order:
Top Gun
The Sound of Music
Back to the Future

16 Candles is my honorable mention, but really I have listed it as a top 3 before, same with An Affair to Remember.

This is hard! In the course of my lifetime, though, some films have endured:

A New Leaf (Walter Matthau and Elaine May)

Lady Jane (Helena Bonham-Carter, Cary Elwes)

Two movies tie for the last spot: Princess Bride and Fiddler on the Roof.

In the categories of not super great movies but have resonated with me, and I can watch them over and over a billion times: Arranged, Kissing Jessica Stein, and Defending Your Life (Meryl Streep and Albert Brooks)

Hmm. I can't think of any movies I go back to repeatedly on purpose, but if I had to pick three to keep rewatching:

1. Dirty Dancing
2. Sense and Sensibility (the Kate Winslet/Emma Thompson one)
3. Rent (I acknowledge that this isn't a great movie, but the show meant a great deal to me back in the day, so it's like comfort food)

Oh gosh. Top three. So hard to recall off the top of my head!

So I feel like my list is going to be fluid and already reading through your lists I'm remembering how much I loved certain movies.

1. Sound of Music
2. Pride and Prejudice
3. (This one is probably weird) Galaxy Quest --but it is just so funny to me

My favorite kid's movie is probably Up. I adore that movie.

I'm sure I'll think of more!

2. Pride and Prejudice
3. Andre (Older, hard to find, but a great movie based on a true story)

Back to the Future

Defending Your Life (Meryl Streep and Albert Brooks)

A resounding yes to Back to the Future! I think that should replace one of my original top 3! Loved that movie! You inspired me to edit my post and replace one with this! 😁

Defending Your Life, another funny and imaginative movie. I feel like this is an overlooked movie that lots of people probably haven't seen but should see!

I forgot about a movie that has stayed with me since I watched it. Like it seriously got stuck in the brain and every once
in a while, it comes to the surface. And if you haven't seen it, I hope you watch it.

Iron Jawed Angels

You really must watch it.

2. The Princess Bride
3. A Knight's Tale

I really love these three! Selecting three movies is hard! In no particular order:

1. What Dreams May Come
2. Crash
3. Moulin Rouge

I also watch The Blind Side, The Fifth Element and Money Trap whenever they happen to be on television.

Great picks!
I'm with you on the first two, but I'm going with Star Wars instead of Rent (I do enjoy singing Seasons of Love though!)

I also really, really love It's a Wondeful Life, but I'll call that my favorite holiday movie so I can add one more.
