Does this sound like strep?

Dd had high fevers the last 2 days--almost 105. Big headache, chills, and said throat was little sore. Acted very sick. I was going to take her to the dr today, but she is acting like she feels better and her fever is almost back to normal (although she took motrin this morning so not sure what it is without it) But a lot lower than the last 2 days.

She says her throat really hurts now. If her fever is going away could it be strep?

It could be. I would take her in to get swabbed. It can't hurt.

I bet it's hand, foot mouth/ 5th's disease/ summer virus. My dr uses those pretty interchangeably. It sounds just like the summer virus ds2 had a few years ago. Check her mouth and see if there are any sores.

If you suspect Strep, please take her in to get swabbed.

Could definitely be strep. DC had a high fever for a day then acted totally normal and was diagnosed with strep 2 days later. Get swabbed.

It could, but my DD has also presented like that for hand-foot-mouth (a/k/a coxsackie virus) so ruling out strep is a really good idea.

Hope she feels better soon!
