DH and I are invited to a gala for his job in a couple of weeks. I haven't seen an invitation, but we went to something similar last year. We like in Michigan, so weather this time of year is variable. I wore a royal blue polyester shift dress and was on the dressier side of things. I'm assuming the dress code is about the same. I'd like something versatile I can wear for other occasions too, though. Im an hourglass shape. I'm thinking about these Boden dress. What do you guys think? I'm open to other suggestions too. I don't want to spend a lot but will if it's something versatile that can accommodate a little fluctuation in body weight.

I'm not a fan of long sleeves for a gala. I like the Maria dress. Which color were you thinking? The print isn't in season for fall though it's pretty.

i was thinking the ombre stripe print, though my size is oos right now. I like the blue but stock is low on that, so I'd have to get really lucky for my size to pop back in stock.

eta: my size is back in.do you think the ombre stripe is in season and dressy enough?
