DC just started at a new school and it is very clear that there is a need for a larger backpack. They carry most items with them during the day. The backpack needs to fit 4 one-inch binders, plus books, lunch box, water bottle, ect.

Any recommendations? Currently we have a Garnet Hill pack that is just too small...

LL Bean Deluxe Original works for us.

We love the Dakine Campus 33L. It's huge - plus has an insulated cooler pocket.

I've been getting them on Amazon - around $40 on sale.

Would one of the jartop backpacks at Target work? The wide opening works well for DS juggling text book and 2 1.5" binders (plus lunch box, pencil box, etc.)

DS carries this.

Big enough for his binders in one opening and books in the other plus a water bottle pocket on the side. Love Jansport. The loop on his pack broke last year so I sent it in over the summer and they returned it good as new a few weeks later.

DD found a fantastic Thule backpack last year at Best Buy. She has not been easy on it, and it still looks brand new.

Thank you for all your suggestions. I just ordered the L.L.Bean Super Deluxe III pack that will hopefully work. This weekend we need to get the rest of the school supplies and will be good to go... Coming from a "no homework" school this should be an interesting year :)!

My 15 yr. old DD has several Dakine backpacks and my DH gave up his briefcase for a Dakine backpack.
