crane cool mist humidifier fogging up room?

i have used crane cool mist humidifier for several years now and never had a problem with getting it started or room looking foggy. I just got a new one 2 days ago and it is having a red light and the 3 times i used it, i had to unplug the cord, tighten the lid, wiggle it, several times to get the green light going.... such a pain in the night. and once it gets going, the room is fogging up a lot, even at the lowest setting. I know its just water vapor but looks weird like smoke like. It never happened like that before. So was my old one not efficient? or this one not good? Or both normal? How is your cool mist humidifier? does it fog up the room as well?

That seems weird. I would call the Crane people and ask them. I did that once and they were helpful.
