I'm hoping to make tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner tonight. Does anyone have a favorite recipe? TIA

I haven't made this, but plan to. EVERYTHING I have ever made from her site is amazingly delicious and generally easy.

This is a little different than the traditional but one of our favorites.

I make the Cuisine At Home roasted tomato soup several times a year -- especially near the end of the summer when there is an abundance of tomatoes that don't look very good but taste wonderful. This blogger has adapted the recipe. She uses chicken broth, I usually use water or vegetable broth --- and I usually roast the onions with the tomatoes and just add the amount of liquid that feels right after I have pureed the tomatoes. I like my tomato soup a little thick and chunky and the water content in the roasted tomato mixture varies depending on the tomatoes used. I also taste before adding sugar because this varies too depending on tomato. I am generous with the salt when roasting the tomatoes, if I'm not, I always find I have to add more in the end and it doesn't blend as well.

Also, I usually set aside some of the soup to be made without red pepper flakes. My children think the pepper makes it to spicy; my husband and I love the pepper.

Enjoy!
