My almost 9 year old DD has been asking for a mermaid fin (that she can swim in) for Christmas and although I've found some online, I can't seem to find any sales. So I'm hoping some of you have suggestions for where to find afordable mermaid fins. Or do I just have to bite the bullet and pay close to $100 (ouch!).

TIA!

Mary

My friend recommended this one that her daughter has. I am waiting until DD2 birthday in the summer instead of getting it for Christmas. So I can't speak personally but her daughter loves it.

Can someone in the family sew? My mother bought the mono fin and bathing suit material from Joann's and then sewed the material based upon a template we made of my girls laying down. The material is very stretchy so there was lots of give.

I am not particularly good at sewing, but I bought material, traced DD, and made the tail. I bought the Fin Fun monofin. She has had it 2 years and needs a bigger tail. But, she loves it and uses the fin often.
