I do not know about the Hawke & Co. coats, but I bought a couple of the Rothschild coats from Amazon when they were $5 two years ago and have been satisfied with the quality, especially relative to price.

That said, it only gets below 32 degrees Fahrenheit here from some time in December until mid-February these days (and even then not every day) and we only had three or four "snow" days last year (meaning days where there was snow to play in -- most of our days off school are because of ice, which is no fun outside), so we do not need anything too heavy. If we lived someplace with a more serious winter, I would hit the thrifts for something Lands End or LLB.

Thanks for the heads up on this deal! We live in a mild climate but this was perfect and much nicer looking than I expected!
