So I picked up 2 sets (of 2) of the current Contigo water bottles that Costco has in stock. I meant to give one each to my kids, keep one, and have an extra. The kids got there's for Chanukah a couple of nights ago. I was very disappointed to see that there is what appears to be plastic liner where you would drink from (hard to explain, but this is mostly for those who have seen the cups). Dd says it is more like rubber, so maybe its silicone? In any case, I am thinking of returning the unopened set as I would think I prefer a plan stainless steel cup. Does anyone know what this material is or have any thoughts on it?

Also, anyone know where I can find other kinds of Contigo water bottles for a good price? I really need one as I dropped the one I had and it no longer stays
closed.

ETA: These are the ones that I have

I have no idea but I love these water bottles. They don't leak, so easy to drink from and keeps my drinks cool for hours.

Thanks for the reply and good to know! I guess I will keep them and use them only for cold beverages/water, which was the original plan for them anyway!

I put them in the dishwasher daily. No change in them at all. Not a bend or anything.

Thanks for posting about these! I’m a bit of a water bottle hoarder and I know we have way too many, but I’ve been wanting these new Contigos ever since I’ve seen them at Costco. Love that the lid is attached, the mouth is big enough to put ice cubes into, the price (!), and that they are stainless steel. Knowing that the inside might be all rubber (?), makes me cover them less. Or, am I misunderstanding that? Is just part of it rubber.....and do I still need to buy them? ;)

Just reread your original post. It’s just the liner at the mouth part that’s rubber? I’d be using these for cold/room temp water, so it should be fine. Plus, PP says they are okay in the dish washer, too.... hmmm...

Thanks for the replies!

It is not all rubber inside. There is a removable mouthpiece. I don't think you can use it without this piece; its removable for the purposes of putting ice cubes in and making washing it easier. I wish I could easily post pics, but I don't have a camera that transfers easily on-line. I am not sure exactly what the material is..it seems like plastic to me.

Honestly, I am still undecided about if this is a keeper or not so not sure what to say about buying them!

Here are pics of the mouthpiece. I am using it right now so it is pretty dirty looking. Fully stainless inside.
