my DD gets super duper cold when swimming and i think she needs a wetsuit to help her keep warm. we went to the rec center pool yesterday and DH was telling me she was getting chattering teeth after just 10 minutes in the pool and she kept complaining the whole time she was cold and it affected her being able to play, etc. the pool was heated to 84 degrees but still felt very cold to her (and i am the same way).

any recommendations for wetsuits for this purpose? it would just be for swimming in indoor pools, when it's not summertime. my DD is nearly 7 yo and i think of average height but is rather skinny - only 44 lbs. (and i wonder if that is part of the problem and why she gets so cold! my DS does not have the same issue)

My kids (esp the really thin one) used Warmbelly wetsuits.

My Ds (8) has no body fat (you can see his bones) and is fine so long as he’s constantly swimming. He’s been on swim team for 1.5 years. He does start to shiver if there’s a break between sets. But he ends up jumping around a bunch to stay warm.

My kids had TYR thermal suits when they were younger. Worked great! https://www.tyr.com/shop/girl-s-solid-thermal-suit-37149.html

My son is super skinny and has no fat. He wears this one during summer swim when the water temp is probably low-mid 70s. The bigger sizes tend to go out of stock quickly, so you'd have to check to watch when they come in.

Our winter pool is heated to 82 and he does ok most days as long as he's moving. Like someone else said, he does get cold when he gets out of the water, so he tries to stay as much in the water as possible. Keeping her in the water and moving will also help.
