I assumed it was a lozenge. She apparently has the flu really bad, and it was a question if she would sing. She probably wanted it up until the last possible second. I thought she sounded great, and I was glad she was able to do it.

It's unfortunate some news outlets assumed and reported that it was gum. My local news reported that it was a throat lozenge, which makes sense given how sick she's been. Phenomenal performance!

I totally assumed gum too. But if I was a reporter, I would have confirmed it first before reporting it was gum.

I think it's unfortunate that the camera was on her right as she was taking it out of her mouth. I probably would have
removed it from my mouth before going onto the field. But that's just me. ;)

This made me laugh. Pink is a huge Eagles fan. Once in a lifetime opportunity. She was amazing. I would guess there were many with the flu who went anyway because... its the super bowl.

Yes to this! I don’t care what she did with the cough drop. I also didn’t see it live (I was sleeping off a cold until right before the game started) and watched the YouTube video in my tv and you could tell it was definitely a cough drop she took out of her mouth.

I thought it was a total mom move, in the best way. Like she's probably held all sorts of crap for her kids (like diapers filled with crap lol) so a lozenge in her hand for a minute was probably not even given a second thought. I thought she did great and DH commented that he thought she's aged well.
