This is the first year that I’ve picked up LEGO advent calendars (for DS and DD2) and now I’m trying to think of an equivalent-ish option for DD1, who just turned 13. She loves dark chocolate but we don’t have Trader Joe’s or World Market anywhere near our city, any other ideas of a place to get a good quality chocolate advent calendar? Or other ideas? She is into artsy/craftsy stuff, her ears unfortunately are super sensitive so she can only wear $$$ earrings. Nail polish, squishies and tinted lip balm are all fun but I think 24 of any one of those is a little more than she’d want. I’d prefer to stay at or under $30. Any ideas welcome though!

You can make your own using Godiva, Lindt or other high end chocolates or a mix of all the above!

Does she like Harry Potter? It's a bit over your limit at $50, but there's a Harry Potter Funko Pop advent calendar that is on par with Lego, I think.

It's a long shot, but last year I bought chocolate advent calendars at IKEA. I can't remember if they had dark chocolate, though. If you have one of those locally, you might be able to get one there.

Might be too late, but I always order European candy ones from amazon. Like Cadbury or Haribo. They are about $15-20, but ship from UK.

But what about just doing one yourself? We have a hanging one with pockets that I got on clearance one year and I just fill it with 2 little candies a day and my kids (9 and 15) share it! It's actually kinda fun to find candies that actually fit the pockets and my kids get excited if I find something new!

Divine makes a really yummy one. You can usually find it at 10,000 Villages or maybe Whole Foods. http://shop.divinechocolateusa.com/Dark-Chocolate-Advent-Calendar/p/DIV-004180&c=DivineChocolate@Christmas

Does she like tea? Cost Plus World Market has a tea advent calendar that I've always wanted to get for myself! My 9 year old DS2 loves tea too. It's only $13 on the website but it doesn't seem to be available online, only in stores. Amazon has it too but for $35!

Thanks for posting this. I've been looking for an inexpensive tea advent calendar for DD. I was going to buy a Stash tea sampler on Amazon and do one myself (can't justify $40+ for most of the ones I"ve seen!) but may go check this out instead.

I'm guessing they aren't the highest quality stuff, but how about one of the advent charm bracelets?

To add to the list for anyone it might help, I bought some chocolate ones at Tuesday Morning a couple of years ago when we lived near one.

Aldi had a few Chocolate options when I was there today. One milk chocolate, the other assorted chocolates and truffles.

Not OP, but thanks! I just ordered one for my mom. She'll love it!

P.S. I was able to order it online.

Wow, so many great ideas, thank you all! Unfortunately she so far isn’t interested in Harry Potter, and isn’t much of a tea drinker, but I am definitely going to follow up on some of the other suggestions. We are seriously lacking on b&m shopping options - we have target and Costco, but very few others, but I didn’t realize places like World Market offer online shopping for some of their merchandise - so thank you thank you!
