My beloved yellow dyson 07 has a problem. DH was cleaning off the brush bar and discovered that the hose has started to detatch underneath. I'm going to call the 1-800 number for Dyson and see if I can get a replacement part, but I'm guessing not, as they no longer make this model (we've had it since 2004 and it was a certified refurbished model when we got it!) Since Black Friday sales are coming up, thought I'd look for a good deal. DH said the vacuum cleaner can be his Christmas gift as long as he never has to use it, LOL!
So, we have carpet and vinyl flooring and 3 cats that shed a lot. I've liked the Dyson, its always seemed to pick stuff up/have good suction. I liked the detachable hose to reach hard to get to places. I did not like that the base stuck up too high so that it won't go under all my cabinets. And when on the hard floor setting it had a hard time picking up single things like a piece of cat food or a cheerio. I'm totally fine with getting another Dyson, as this one has lasted us so long, unless there is something better out there in a reasonable price range. What do you recommend? And links to current or upcoming sales would be awesome!
I found a replacement part online and video of how to fix it, looks easy enough. Ordered the part, its supposed to be here by Wed., if I can't get that to work, then I will be looking for BF deals online, so still post links please!
