My DS (13) is having surgery tomorrow to prevent the risk of testicular torsion....poor guy. He will be recovering during Thanksgiving and will need to be excused from PE for the month of December. Do any of you brilliant ladies have a suggestion as to what we can tell people to explain why he is sitting out of PE and may be sitting out of Thanksgiving?

Any recommendations to ease his recovery?

Thanks all!

Maybe say "abdominal surgery"? If people ask why/want details, I'd just say "I don't really want to go into it, but he's fine now."

Good luck to him, he must be worried. :(

How about hernia surgery? My 15 year old DS1 has a friend who had hernia surgery a few weeks ago and missed several days of school and I'm pretty sure was excused from PE. I'm hoping to have the surgery soon too and at my consultation 2 weeks ago the doctor said no exercise for at least the first 2 weeks afterwards.

Yes, hernia surgery sounds like a good plan. Thanks so much, ladies, I hope your surgery goes well Latia.
