If you are making sugar cookies, what do you roll out your cookie dough on? Right on the counter? On a cutting board? I've tried a cutting board, and they're never big enough so I'm just curious.

Wax paper or a dough cloth

Right on counter (granite). I wipe area with wet paper towel first and let it dry.

Counter (granite), splat mat for rolling dough, and dough cloth lightly floured.

On the counter or table - usually table so the kids can cut out cookies.

Parchment paper or wax paper.

Straight on the counter. Except I'm not patient enough to roll dough. That is DH's domain.

I use a large Silpat (or Silpat knock-off).

Yep — also good for kneading bread.

A dough sheet—I have one from King Arthur Flour that I use for pies, bread, scones, etc

Here’s how I successfully do it.
I cut 2 pieces of Press and Seal into long rectangles and put one on the counter. I put a bit of flour all over that piece. I put the dough blob on top and sprinkle flour on it. I cover the dough with my second piece of Press and Seal then I roll out the dough. I don’t chill the dough first, I chill it once it’s rolled out. I chill the rolled out dough before I cut it.
I know this method is unconventional but I’ve used it for years with great results and no frustration (plus easy clean up!).
