Hoping the awesome shoppers here can help either point me in a direction - or provide actual suggestions!
The problem: We have a condo in Florida that we use a few weeks a year, but also rent out much of the "season". It's in an area that only allows monthly renters, and three leases a year - so it's mostly retired couples renting/the furniture is what I would consider 'lightly used' since at most it's only used four months a year...and there aren't kids/ pets hopping on it :).
We bought it furnished, and while we replaced what 'had' to be replaced we're hoping to wait to redo the living room until we're done renting it. Unfortunately, the 'comfy chair and a half' is suddenly worse for the wear - still comfortable but the upholstery will never be clean again. Easy solution was a Surefit or similar slip cover, but can't find one that fits. A custom one is $1000+ and not happening!
So - I'd like to find a replacement that works in the room. Requirements:
* Ideally comfortable to sit in - it's my husband's CHAIR :)
* Has to at least not be offensive in the room
* Has to have a matching ottoman
* Ideally fabric that's easy to clean
* Ideally under $1,000 for chair and ottoman - the more 'under' the better.
I found one 'maybe not bad' at Ashley Furniture - does anyone have experience with their soft goods? I know it's not high end - but given the usage thinking it may be ok? Or maybe even 'more than ok'? I looked at Wayfair but didn't find anything where i liked both the chair and the fabric in the room.
Links and thoughts on this highly appreciated!! Thanks in advance.
Oh - a link to the room if you want more details: https://www.vrbo.com/1162314. The pics here are somewhat photoshopped, but the second pic may show the chair better. The walls are Benjamin Moore Citrine - the color under the kitchen counter is closer to 'true' than the wall behind the sofa.
