I am looking for a boot I can wear in rain or snow for dog walking. I need something that has excellent traction as my dog is a puller (I know, we are working on it). My calves tend to require wider shafts.

I bought a pair of Bogs online but was surprised at how big and heavy the foot-part was -- it looks like space boots. I'm afraid I won't walk well in them. (Loved how easy they were to get on/off!) I think I'm returning them and would like to hear about good alternatives.

TIA!

I love my Kamik Jennifer rain boots, I just wear wool socks when I need some warmth. I got them for around $25 from Amazon Warehouse a few years ago, still going strong.

I just bought this great pair of Sperry's https://www.sperry.com/en/womens-shoes-wet-weather/
They're light weight and I think will be good 3 seasons here. Granted, they are booties not boots but maybe they could still work?

I bought these last year. I love them. I wear them any t8me there is a hint of rain in the forecast. Super easy to get on and off and super comfy. I have three pairs of Hunter boots but I prefer my Sperrys. Wish I had figured that our before shell8ng out for the Hunters.

I don't have Hunters but I wish I had just gone with the ducks long ago. It's like 2 shoes in one (rain and snow) and so, so comfy!

For excellent traction, I’m loving the Merrell aurora 6 ice plus line. Super warm and amazing traction. I’m an avid dog walker and these have been amazing in colder weather this year. You could also add yak tracks or competitors to anything.

I got the Sperrys linked above. Definitely versatile but zero traction, little support. Fine for suburban living (ie driving, running in and out of car) but definitely not a hard core miles dog walk boot in cold snowy conditions.

I have the hunter short boots and the Sperrys pp linked up above. I used to wear the hunters all.the.time when I had my boxers cuz I usually take them to big trials, dog parks, and parks with large walking trials. One of my dogs was a puller too! So it meant I had to wear sturdy boots that can withhold wet slippery ground.

I loooove my EMU Australia Gravelly Womens Waterproof Sheepskin Boots. Like Uggs but waterproof. So comfy and cozy.

I recently bought Sperry's as well, from DSW. The Syren, but the Syren Misty has a higher shaft (however I don't think the shaft is waterproof).

They are comfy and easy to get on/off. i did size down a half size.
