Title says it all...
How long a wait do you have to be seen at the Orthodontist, or any semi-regularly scheduled appt.?

It never takes long to get into a chair. Sometimes there's a traffic jam in the back with all the patients, but luckily our orthodontist is very respectful of everyone's time.

5-10 minutes.
We waited 20 minutes for the bracket appt with the orthodontist (not an asst) and she comped the sealant they offered before brackets went on because of the delay.

Usually 5 min or less. They are a well-oiled machine. It's actually quite impressive as an observer. I feel like their earliest appointments are ONLY for adjustments and they cycle them through super quick.

Kids getting the braces on, having the initial consult / x-rays, or having a lengthy check-up seem to be later morning and on.

I often get there extra early so that we can get outta there and off to school / work on time. Even when they take the kid back earlier than their scheduled appointment, our wait is short - 10 minutes or so.

If it was a problem, OP, I'd ask the front desk when the best time-frame was for the least amount of waiting.

5 to 10 minutes for child currently in braces. Older child had different ortho and wait was frequently 15 to 30 or more. One of several reasons we switched.

I found the ortho to be one of the most efficiently run offices. 5/10 minutes at most.

Thanks for all the feedback!

This was our second consult follow-up appointment. We waited 35 minutes in the waiting room and then another 15 to see the Orthodontist. The first appointment was a similar I think even longer wait time. Frustrating! I switched to this practice for my 3 DC from the ortho for my 1st DC who had really long scheduling period. For instance, if you called today to reschedule an appt for July 24, the soonest they could work you in for a regular 10-20 min appt would be something like Sept. 4th.

I have better things to do with my time than wait 30 minutes at the ortho. We rarely sit down in the waiting room.

They are usually ready to take her back right away. Under 5 min.

I think that’s an unacceptably long wait, especially if that’s a regular thing. We wait under 10 minutes. Also, our orthodontist has a 24hr a day hotline and guarantees if there’s a painful problem like a poking wire or something they will see the child that day, even after hours, or the next morning if it’s late at night, basically ASAP. We did once go in on a Sunday evening for a poking wire we couldn’t pull. With orthodontia, it’s important to be able to have good access!

10 minutes, and that's usually because we're a few minutes late often.
