I have had a folding table as a desk in my office since we moved 7 years ago. I’m ready to buy furniture. I had hoped to buy from Costco but I didn’t see any desks in store this year. I didn’t love the quality of Crate & Barrel when we bought it in the past. I’m open to Ikea. I’m leaning toward a table desk with just a small drawer or two. I need a couple of coordinating pieces to hold the printer and other gadgets. Thoughts? Ideas to share? TIA

Honestly, I love IKEA. Their quality to cost is excellent. And they have so many work surface options.

IKEA is really pretty awesome when it comes to office furniture. I would recommend looking in person though - some of the desks are much sturdier than others. They even have a decent quality sit/stand desk. Also consider some of their dining tables as desks, it will open up a few more styles for you. Since most of the floor samples get pretty abused, you get a good idea of how things will hold up.

We have had good luck with their desk chairs. They have a sit/stand stool that we really love. Reviews on their website are helpful, and it doesn't seem like they delete negative reviews. We have 2 big L-shaped curved workstations that are very sturdy (the kids use them as their homework/art area), and some of their office lines are modular so you can really customize your space.

CB2 is another place to look - their prices are OK when things go on sale, and they have some pretty cool looking options. Reviews are helpful. I have a glass top/chrome legs desk from CB2 that is really sturdy, doesn't jiggle with all the computer work I do, and I love it.

DH has a very pretty vintage wood desk that I got off of FB marketplace for $50. He has a modern/retro office and this simple queen anne desk with glass topper is the perfect contrast and the quality is SO GOOD. I almost wish I got it for myself but I already had the CB2 desk. Anyway, you can find excellent quality vintage furniture if that's a look you like and you know how to evaluate furniture for quality and wood pests and weird smells. I also see plenty of more modern and traditional office furniture on my local FB marketplace (things like Pottery Barn desks, or desks that you could imagine finding at Costco) if you're willing to deal with transporting it.

Did you check Costco.com? They have a lot of things online that aren't in the store. I'm not sure if you want to stick with a budget or go all out. Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, and Wayfair are other options.

I don't know how much you need to be at your desk, but I really like a sit to stand option if you are there full time. We made them with a tabletop from ikea and programmable legs from amazon. Way sturdier and more practical than any desk I've ever used.

Looks like of like this although we did different color top and legs than in the picture:

Tabletop from ikea:

Similar legs from amazon, not seeing the exact ones we used:

love the ease of moving the desk up and down at the push of a button and that it's completely customizable. Only thing to note is cable management. We mounted the power strip to the back of the desk for a cleaner look and to ensure we wouldn't have issues with that.

Mine currently has 3 large monitors on a docking station for what I'm doing with work. It's HEAVY and is not a problem at all. I love love love it!

I also have a 2 drawer wooden filing cabinet off to the side. It's the perfect size to hold my printer and just the right number of drawers for what I need. You could also do a lateral file if you want more storage space.
Similar to what I have:
