I am usually cautious about food safety so always ask the collective community: brought hot rotisserie chicken home from Costco, left on kitchen table to cool so I could pick off the bone. Forgot completely and now it has been 3.5 or 4 hours. WWYD?

I would be okay with that unless it was super hot outside.

We always leave it out like that. I like it to be cooler before going in fridge.

I think “they” say it shouldn’t cool at all.

I would be 100% fine with it however. As PP said if really hot/in the sun probably not. But standard room temperature? Yep I’m ok.

I’m ok with eating it if it’s been in a coolish kitchen.

I’m a food safety freak. Throw it. The general guideline is 2 hours max at room temperature (one hour if it’s 90 degrees or above.)
