Portable speaker for young teen rec?

Hi, I am hoping to get a portable speaker for my 13 year-old ds. He had mentioned wanting a beats pill in the past. I am fine getting that, but is there anything that would be a better option? I’d like something fairly rugged since he would be taking it outside. Thanks!

JBL makes a good one.

JBL Flip speaker. I don't know if it's better than the beats one but it probably is cheaper. It's a great portable speaker-definitely rugged.
