DS obviously has an ear infection and I don't want to take him to urgent care. We've never done virtual visits or any kind does anyone have a recommendation? When I'm googling it I am finding all kinds of stuff I just need someone who will write the script basically. I know it's an EI.

Do you have a local (and I think I mean in your state) hospital system that runs one? One of our large systems does and I would use them if needed.

What does your Dr say? That’s where I’d start. Otherwise, wouldn’t the telehealth be linked to your health insurance?

I mean, I normally wouldn't call my doc about something like this after hours. I guess I could try texting

I would definitely just call your ped. Our ped is doing virtual visits or seeing kids in the parking lot. I would call because IME ear pain can go from 0 to 10 pretty quickly so the faster you can get the meds the better.

Call them. Either they can help or point you in the best direction.
Mine got an EI right when this all began. It ruptured while I was on hold with the off hours Dr. Reached my Dr and he called in abx.

Our insurance offers Telemedicine options - they use Healthiest You (It works great for things like EIs). You might check your insurance docs to see if yours includes something like that

Is his pediatrician offering virtual visits?

I know in my state all offices are offering telemedicine as insurance nationally is required to cover it as part of COVID. They may even just call something in after speaking to you.

Thanks guys. My insurance did have a virtual visit and it was really fast. We’re going to try antibiotic drops to see if those help
