Has anyone thought of a clever holder or found something the kids can attach their masks to when not being worn? Maybe a lanyard or clip of some kind? Not really sure what I’m looking for, but I thought I’d ask.

I saw a video on Facebook. They just used a regular lanyard and had the clip part clipped to the ear elastic. That way when they child took the mask off, it was already connected to the lanyard.

Thanks! I found some inexpensive ones with a simple snap and ribbon on Etsy.

Yes, I just got these a few days ago: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0882KNCG3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I posted about them on the "masks for school" thread. They are adjustable, stretchy, and allow you to wear your mask around your neck when not needed. I wore mine to the dentist today and we wore them when we went out for ice cream for DH's birthday on Sunday. They're stretchy enough that I can leave it attached to my mask and just put the whole thing on over my head without disconnecting the strap.

Even though I get that in the current situation, masks are protecting others from me, I still can't get past my training to not touch the outside of the mask. So I can't stand it when my Mom (or anyone) grabs the front of the mask and balls it up to wear again later.
So having a lanyard feels like it is allowing the "dirty" side of the mask to touch other parts of your body and contaminate them.

I'm having a hard time with this too! And I'm also certain my kids won't care if their dirty hands touch the inside of the mask that they are then going to put right up to their nose and mouth. Sigh.

I can't stand when people touch the outside of their mask either. I've taught my kids to only put their masks on by touching the straps, not the part that covers your face. Same when wearing the elastic strap. Having it around my neck doesn't feel like it's contaminating anything since it's on my neck, still facing out vs holding it in my hands. I'd rather my kid where his mask around his neck when eating lunch instead of putting it down on the table, dropping it on the floor, etc. I saw man eating alone outside a restaurant the other day, he got up to go back inside to get another drink, and dropped his mask on the ground. You can't go inside anywhere without a mask here so he had to put it on.

I immediately ordered the lanyard you linked above for the same reason. If my kids take off their masks for any reason, I’m sure they will eventually land on the floor especially DS is quite clumsy and then putting the same mask on your face just gross.

These are seriously AWESOME. DH took DS to a ropes course today where they can social distance everywhere except for at the beginning and end when they have an employee help you with the harness. It was perfect for them to be able to pull their masks down around their necks when not needed. I just bought a 2nd pack for school.

Petesgirl or Essnce629. would one of you mind reposting the link? It doesn't seem to currently be working. Thanks!

When I try to pull them up from my purchase history the link is broken. They’re very similar to these.

Huaxu is the brand i bought.
