Having two couples over Sunday. It will be hot and we will all be outside. Celebrating two birthdays. I said 7pm and we will be drinking, having appetizers and desserts. I would love any recommendatons for some great appetizers to serve. it being hot and outside, I am just having a hard time with this.

Thanks for any help.

Pre-dish some fruit salad and some pasta salad in individual bowls then grill something (salmon, steak or chicken).

I'm thinking easy to grab and eat foods where you can avoid everyone touching things - fresh fruit kebabs, grilled chicken, steak and/or shrimp on skewers. Sliders are easy and good too.

Agree with above. Other thoughts:

* Caprese kabobs (mozzarella balls, cherry tomatoes, basil, drizzle of balsamic glaze) are easy and pretty.
* I have an orzo/spinach/feta salad recipe that's easy - something like that preplated?
* If Costco near you they have a quinoa salad, usually near the butcher counter(?) that's good and can be preplated.
* Cookies or bars, "plated" in individual cupcake liners. Other snacks work well in those too.

Have fun!

I agree it will be safest with individual servings of foods like capturer skewers, veggie kabobs cooked over the grill, steak or burgers.

If you have time you could do cake pops which are fun and so yummy. You could also have ice cream sandwiches which really hit the spot in the heat.

Burgers are a challenge unless you also find a good way to serve the condiments. Communal spoons/knives are a problem. Just seems like extra work. It’s so hard to figure out!

I would a solo cup with room temperature skewers already inside, another with shrimp and cocktail sauce, another with hummus and veggies. Maybe fresh berries and whipped cream proportioned in clear cups?
