My Girl Scout troop is currently doing virtual meetings because of Covid restrictions at the church that we meet at. I thought it would be fun to make Cake in a Mug recipes together next week on Zoom for a Valentine's Day party. I ran the idea by the girls in our meeting tonight and they liked it and think that they have basic baking ingredients at home (flour, sugar, egg, oil, etc.). I know a few moms here posted some recipes that they have tried on a thread awhile back, just checking to see if anyone else has easy recipes they have tried that taste good and don't use any odd ingredients. I'd like to put together a list of several recipes for the girls to choose from (or if they want they can search for their own) and we will make and eat them during our Zoom meeting and give feedback/share recipes of the best ones so they can make them on their own again later. I'm also going to send links to printable adult coloring pages they can color for a family member or friend as a Valentine, and I have Valentine themed digital Bingo. If anyone has other ideas for Valentine themed games, please share! Thanks!

Did you see this thread? This sounds easy: https://windsorpeak.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?429992&p=3476676#post3476676

Also, were you able to find that thread from a few months ago? I’m just wondering because I was one who initially posted and can give you a couple of recipes, if not.

Thanks, I had not seen that thread you linked. The link in that thread did not work, but I found the recipe here: https://www.duncanhines.ca/recipes/cakes/dh/microwave-cake/

I also found a thread that shared this Cinnamon Roll mug cake https://www.cookingclassy.com/cinnamon-roll-mug-cake-made-in-3-minutes/.

As well as the thread I had started for Christmas zoom meeting ideas in December. You had shared a recipe from Pioneer Woman and lizzywednesday shared two recipes so those are on my list of ideas to send to parents:

This is the best mug cake recipe I have found: https://www.tablefortwoblog.com/the-moistest-chocolate-mug-cake/

It has the best texture of any I have tried. I leave out the hazelnut spread, because I don’t think it’s necessary and it makes it very rich, but the girls might like it as an option.

Oh good, I’m glad you found some good options. We tried 2 recipes for our Christmas mug cake craft- a snickerdoodle cake and the PW cake. The pioneer woman one was excellent. I love that you can use almost all shelf stable ingredients. I think I read somewhere that you could substitute water fir milk because it just needs the moisture. Milk makes it creamier though. Have fun with your mug cakes!
