Hardly fitting for baby bargains.... know anything about redundant colon?

Had my first colonoscopy today and that term was introduced. Said the procedure was difficult due to redundant colon. I’ve been having constipation problems for 3ish years and wanted to know if anyone has dealt with this before. Sounds like it could be surgical??

I was told I had something like this when I went for my first colonoscopy a couple of years ago (long, twisty colon). I was told it probably contributes to my IBS-C. I also struggle with constipation.
Surgery was not suggested to me by the gastro.

Ok, that’s promising. I can deal with pills or something. I’ve been fine for 47ish years...Except for the last few.

Pinkmomagain, what do you have to do to manage that? Seems like that’s what I’ve been experiencing.

The doctor prescribed me Linzess but I didn't like it.
I just deal with abdominal discomfort on most days. I try to use things like magnesium and flax oil to move things along.
I think my nervous system seizes up my motility too, so I try to get a massage every couple of weeks and, believe it or not, it helps some.

I wasn’t familiar with the term "redundant colon" but a quick search turned up a variety of info. I skipped the refs with photos, but my favorite definition from a medical article was "a colon that is too long for its owner" [emoji1]

This sounds like my BIL's issue; he manages IBS-like symptoms, which are also tied to his anxiety diagnosis, but did not have surgery suggested.
