Our strong lab stretches out her nylon collar when she gets it wet. It constantly looks like it's about to slip right over her head when she's on leash. What brand /type of collar do people love for their big dogs?

We use RC Pets adjustable clip collars and leashes on our Labs (Amazon). Have never had a problem with them stretching out. We do take them off when the dogs go swimming, however.

Maybe try a martingale collar, if the risk of slipping the collar while on leash is the issue. Lots of options on Amazon or in any pet store. The only drawback is that I believe martingale collars should only be used while the dog is on leash, and you should switch to a regular collar at home because of the small risk that your dog might be home alone and catch the collar on something, causing it to tighten around the neck.

A slip lead is another option and would be easy to just slip it on for walks.

And you didn't ask :) but I have and absolutely love this for our big wuss - needed something he couldn't back out of to keep him safe with us when something scares him:

and bonus, you can use it as a traditional slip lead OR a harness (we use it as a harness).

Uncommon Paws, a local company from Portland ME, she makes them all. We have been using them for our Newf's for 10 years, they are awesome.

Our lab is on her second RC Pets collar and we love them. The first lasted three years and still looks pretty good considering she wears it 24/7, except when swimming in the lake. Cute prints, you can toss them in the wash and they come out looking brand new, very affordable. We use the 1" width, we tried a large the first time and it was plenty big. Went down to a medium this time so there isn't so much bulk and it fits great with extra space too.

My lab/pit mix wears a Lupine collar and they've never gotten worn out. We only have a few because the prints caught my eye. Our local pet store sells them and although I've never used it, their products all have a lifetime guarantee.

My 10 y.o. german shepherd/coonhound mix has worn a Lupine martingale collar for years and it is still going strong. She's mostly couch potato so she wears it constantly. I'm very happy with the brand and agree with the suggestion.

I don't trust our very active 1 y.o. german shepherd/boxer mix with a martingale collar so I went with a standard collar from Ruffwear for her. So far it is going strong and I love it, especially the silicone dog tag silencer that comes with it. Genius!

My favorites are the leather Martingale collars from Bold Lead Designs (https://boldleaddesigns.com/shop/martingale/). I used them for my Great Pyrenees (125 and 150lbs) and now for my Leonberger (130lbs). She typically only wears the Martingale when she's on leash. Around the house, she wears a simple tag collar from Houndstown (https://www.etsy.com/shop/houndstown?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=636383431) on Etsy with a flat ID tag from Boomerang (https://www.boomerangtags.com/page.php?c=collartags&k=h).
