I know this is going to vary greatly, but just curious what everyone is paying for club sports. I am looking at non travel club volleyball for Dd1 and it is $199 a month vs. full club with travel (although tournaments are in a neighboring county so no overnight travel required) which is $270 a month, plus a $350 deposit. At first I thought $3000 a year for full club volleyball was a lot but then I remembered that is what I would’ve been paying for ballet classes when she would’ve had to go to 5-6 classes a week, which was the next step for her.
ETA: she could play on her high school volleyball team, but she has also just started playing tennis this spring for her school team and she really likes it. She has a feeling that some of the girls will go back to volleyball in the fall and since volleyball and tennis are both usually fall sports she would have to chose between VB and tennis next fall. Dd1 has a feeling that the school will have three full VB teams (fresh/soph./JV/varsity) next year and tennis will just be scraping by to get a full team of 12 so she is leaning to staying on tennis.
