Women’s socks for big feet

DD wears a size 10 or 11 tennis shoe and she hates tight socks. She also doesn’t like no shoe socks so I need some that are ankle/crew or low cut. Any recommendations for some that won’t/don’t shrink?

So I have the opposite problem -- my feet are small and the regular sized ones are huge on me -- but I've found the key is buying socks that come in more size options than the standard "one size fits all" women's size. They aren't cheap, but I really like Bombas. They hold up well, come in several different heights, and come in sizes Small, Medium, and Large.

I also wear an 11 (and have a wide foot). You have to search for them in store, but Target carries an extended size, 8-12, in their sports socks.

And they have other athletic styles in these sizes. I haven't been able to find extended sizes in casual styles at Target, but I haven't really looked anywhere else.

Oh wow, thanks for the Target link!! I wear an 11 too and this is an issue I have and can't stand the tight socks. I have just been getting men's socks.

Definitely need to look for extended size women's socks; also look at stores such as lane Bryant, Torrid, etc. I cannot wear normal ladies size socks. NO WAY.
Sucks I can't wear the cute sock styles, or cute designs but comfort beats cute.

Extended sizes are KEY aka Plus Size. Same for shoes - even though might not be plus size for clothing, the plus size clothing stores often carry bigger size shoes and socks!

Also, this probably doesn't apply to the OP's daughter, but when I had DS 11 years ago, my legs puffed up a bit and regular low cut socks can sometimes be too tight on my ankles . These socks are magical! No binding or elastic print when I take them off. lol

Any tips for no-binding crew socks? One of the indignities of age is puffy ankles. My doctor has checked thoroughly and assures me that these are not due to any of the various medical conditions that often cause this. It’s just age and gravity...

I wear a 10-10.5 shoe and have the same problem.

You need to look for women's extended size socks in ankle or quarter length. I wear some from C9 by Champion and they are soft, have cushioning but not so much that my feet feel stuffed into my sneakers, and wick away. (If I want "no-show" socks, I have to get men's sizes, but I generally despise no-show.)

Most socks sold in stores, especially in the women's hosiery section are the standard "4-10" size that doesn't do anyone in the 9-11 shoe size range any good. Extended size fits shoe sizes 8-12.

No, unfortunately not. Over the last few years, I've only worn ankle/no show with sneakers and no-show with ankle boots and skinny jeans (I roll my jean legs up a couple of times.)

Several years back, I bought crew socks at Lane Bryant and while they were big enough, I still thought the elastic part was tight, which was surprising. I'm fluffy, so I shop there sometimes anyway.

Under Armour or ASICS work best for me. I know Under Armour medium socks are the only socks that advertise fitting a size 6-10 that actually work for me. I need larges in ASICS. I also remember Adidas used to work well for me however I haven’t bought any in a few years and they were still sized on 9-11, which is a true rarity these days. I hate that they changed sock sizes a few years back because 9-11 always fit.

I tried Bombas athletic socks a few years and they were just okay and I ended up giving them all to Dd1. Dd1 is 9 though and thy fit her better. I think I got mediums but I wouldn’t buy them again because I don’t think they are all that superior to something else I can buy locally like Zulu (except I have their no shows as well so I can’t comment on how their non no shows fit).

Hanes makes crew socks in the 9-11 size. We buy them from Amazon-DD wears a 10.5 shoe

I wear a size 10 and have always had bigger ankles. I really like Universal Threads from Target. They're regular sizing so might not work for size 11. But the crew socks are the only ones I've found that don't leave marks on my ankles.
