My mom is looking for a slipper with this criteria
- not shearling lined
- a moccasin format with a back (not a slide)
- not boiled wool
- not a sock format

She has some movement limits (super hard to put on shoes and socks) so something that is easy to slide into is great. She doesn’t have rain or snow and sometimes sits out side with a slipper on. Her favorites are the free ones I bring her from hotels but she is looking for something more substantial with a heel. THANKS!

I love my Uggs but she does not.

How about Acorn slippers? There are a lot of styles and different materials but this version is the one I’m thinking of: https://www.acorn.com/products/womens-fleece-moc-slippers?pr_prod_strat=copurchase&pr_rec_pid=4503105077379&pr_ref_pid=4479957270659&pr_seq=uniform

Amazon carries them and different patterns/sizes are different prices so pay attention to that!

I love Acorn slippers. I have no idea if mine are boiled wool. I tried so hard last Christmas to find slippers that fit, and purchased multiple times from both Amazon and Kohls and even the same size of a brand in different colors fit differently so I gave up. My Mom bought me this one: https://www.acorn.com/collections/women-slippers/products/womens-faux-chinchilla-collar-slippers?variant=33320061534339 and they are great. I wear them daily around the house and even for school drop off if I don't have plans to go anywhere after. The shearling insoles are wearing out, and someone on here recently commented about buying insole replacements on Amazon (generic brand, not Acorn) so will be doing that because the sole is still perfect.

I like Minnetonka. They have a lot of styles that are not shearling lined. This is just one example: https://www.minnetonkamoccasin.com/kilty-hardsole-women

Allbirds Loungers? They come in tree (not fuzzy but very soft), wool (fuzzy and extremely soft but not fluffy) and fluff (fluffy lol). They are incredibly comfy and designed to be worn without socks. DH wears his both in and out of the house, and since they have a proper sole (which is quite soft and flexible) they'd be safer for preventing falls. And they are washable.

The wool is VERY soft, not at all like boiled wool. I have boiled wool slippers from LL Bean and the Allbirds wool is WAY softer. The Tree material is also amazing for a non-wool option, I have a couple of pairs of other styles in Tree and absolutely love.

eta: depending on her size, you can also get the mens style and Allbirds will help you translate sizing, in case there's a color you like in men's better.

What about these? I would think it regular shoes are hard to put on a slip might work better. They are lot boiled wool, but upcycled wool. If you search Ugg’s website using the word “fluff” you will see some more. They are listed as men’s but a women’s size is given as well.

Or these basic Dearfoams. My mom wears these when she isn’t wearing slipper socks around the house.

I bought the pair last winter when I had very limited use of my foot after breaking it. It saw me through many months of recovering and rehabbing. Excellent pair!

I ended up giving them to her early and she loves these. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions!!
