Mom's surgery

Only my mother would schedule her surgery for the last available slot - 4:30 pm - on a Friday night... and a Friday the 13th at that.

So - of course they're late - all the delays all day long all domino down to delay all later surgeries... and they end up starting a 3+ hour surgery at 7pm. She didn't make it to her room until almost 2am.

(honestly, other than the lateness, all the staff, especially the nursing staff, did a fabulous job! and we told them so.)

But now, on Sunday, She's being discharged and the Drs didn't order her any pain meds to go home - after spinal surgery. They haven't been able to reach him. So we're stuck here until they get a hold of her Dr. It's been four hours already and no end in sight....

What a long, exhausting weekend for you all! Getting discharged from the hospital always seems to take forever. But 4+ hours is really dragging it out!
