Ideas for wall decorations for DD's big girl room?
So we have mostly transitioned Sarah to a big girl room. It is full of her toys and things, but the walls are bare right now. (They walls are white and I plan to keep it that way.) I am sort of stumped about what to hang there. I don't want to spend a fortune on pictures, but it really needs something to make it more homey and fun for her.
I honestly have no ideas. We have no real "theme". Her bedding and other accessories are all primary colors. The quilt is from PBK and is the Flutterbug pattern:

She likes animals, dolls, trains and airplanes!
Any thoughts?

How about displaying some of her artwork in frames? You could go to the dollar store and buy some cheap frames. Another idea is to hang a clothesline across her wall and hang some artwork from that with clips or clothespins.
Does she have a lot of shelving? You could put up a few shelves and set some pretty dolls, etc. on it.
I think bulletin boards and chalkboards are nice too.

I second the idea of artwork. I was just lamenting the fact that we have so few places to display my DD's artwork, and she gets such a kick out of it! If you go to Hobby Lobby they have pre-cut mats that, with some painter's tape, would make great temporary frames. Painter's tape is a low-tack tape so would not rip the mats when you "updated" the artwork. Another idea (though this kind of goes against the plain white walls) is to paint "frames" on the wall and then use poster adhesive to mount pictures within the "frames".
Completely separate idea - make color photo copies of her favorite book pages and use and inexpensive mounting (like dollar store frames or mat board) so that you can change them out periodically.
Good luck, I LOVE decorating my daughter's room. It's one of the reasons I don't mind moving a lot!

Beth,
I just ordered some inexpensive posters from allposters.com for Nick's room. I think their prices even with shipping come out better than the stores, and they have a good selection.
Also check out the Restore and Restyle section at Target. I think they have some pegs and shelves that would match her bedding.
