What are they made of?
very cute!!!!
these are cute! what makes them non-slip? i have several "non-slip" bands that ALWAYS slip when i wear them. i'm on the search for a true non-slip band...lmk if you get one!
Those are cute!
I can't help it though...when I saw the title I immediately thought of that Saturday Night Live sketch with Alec Baldwin...the Shwetey Balls :ROTFLMAO:
I saw them listed on the fav things thread. I wonder if they'd be good for mom's too b/c I have an impossible time keeping hair off my face when it's windy.
:yeahthat: NONE of the non-slip bands I have bought have ever stayed on for me. I have super straight hair and everything slips out of it. It was frustrating when I was a little girl and still to this day, I can't really wear anything cute in my hair, b/c it always slips out. I would be willing to pay the $ for something that truly works, but I have to admit that I'm skeptical after my personal exp with these types of items.
Those are cute! I noticed they have some with reflective material, which I thought was a great idea! Also, I noticed you can get 2 (very limited choices) via amazon prime for ~29.
I posted these as one of my new favorite things. I have super straight hair and it stays in my hair perfectly. I have the pink one with the skull bones.
they are very cute... but ouch! i'm not sure i could stomach paying that much for a headband for myself, let alone for a little kid except for a special occasion or something... but that's just me ;).
I just bought a larger one and smaller one to try. Coupon AVP got me 20% off. Also, you can get a "mystery" one to try for $7.
ETA: The $7 doesn't include shipping or the discount.
You may want to see if you can find them locally. I bought mine at a local Fleet Feet. I prefer the thin band myself.
These work great! I picked up one a couple weeks ago at a local Fleet Feet.
I would love if these worked in my hair. I hate wearing pony tails all the time.
There is a store an hr away that am going to check out next time we are in that area. So thanks for mentioning this product, b/c I would never have heard about it.
I have three of these and love them! I have very fine short hair and they stay put. I wear them to Jazzercise and have no problem. I prefer the thin ones because my hair is so thin. Several of the instructors put their hair in a ponytail and then use the sweaty bands to keep any stragglers off their face.
My Jazzercise location puts in orders on a regular basis. The price I paid for the ones I ordered through the class was significantly less than the website. You can find them in the stores listed; however, the selection tends to be very limited. I bought one from the running store and they only had about 4 to choose from.
The backs of the bands are made of a velvet material which keeps them from slipping. I have one with a white background that gets pretty grungy looking but I just throw it in the washer.
Oh thanks for this thread. I apparently have a Fleet Feet right around the corner so I'm going to go check them out tomorrow!
I just got one yesterday! :D Haven't tried it yet, I got a thin one and will wear it during stroller class. I wear my hair up in a pony tail, but have wispies (or my DH likes to call them crazy cat whiskers) sticking out all over the place. I hope it works and doesn't slingshot off of my head.
Anyone else love the music on their website??? :)
We need a Co-op.... Pretty please??
OMG...I cringed at the price online when i first saw this post a week ago...i finally thought about them again and looked at stores that may have them...there are two, one being the yoga studio i go to and another about 10min away! i can't wait to try one...hoping the price is a bit less than online!
I bought several of thse (between 2 orders) when this thread first started. I don't have any stores that sell them near me, so ordering was my only option. I received the orders in 3 days (they are in Ohio I am in AZ). As a pp mentioned there is a velvet type backing that helps keep the band from slipping. I am also guessing that part of the design itself helps (feels tighter on top). These are nothing like the goody non slip ones. Anyway, I have been impressed with how well they have stayed. The thinner (1 inch) ones I have slept in and they have stayed on all night (didn't have the same results with the thicker ones). I have bought several of the mystery bag ones for $7 (minus whatever discount I find), and they have all been cute too.
Hmmm, well, I used mine today for stroller class. It is really cute and for the most part it stayed on for me, but it still started slipping, so I had to re-do it after 1 hr of class. I wore my hair in a ponytail and was using it to keep the hair out of my face. I think they are cute, but waaaay overpriced. I looked at it, and if you are handy with your sewing machine, you could TOTALLY make these. It is basically whatever ribbon you like, backed with velvet ribbon. Then about 3-4 inches of regular black elastic. It is the best, "non-slip" hairband I have found so far, but still not 100% non-slip for my situation.
Thanks for your review! I wonder if these are the same concept? http://www.etsy.com/listing/55232544...and-sparkle-up
The esty ones look very similar.
Yes, they are pricey, but they work far, far better than anything I or my daughter have ever used. They aren't perfect, but our hair is telfon-like, no joke.
I have never in her 8 years had any type of headband last for longer than 5 minutes in her hair, I've tried EVERY type imaginable (elastic, rubbery elastic, plastic with teeth, wide plastic with teeth, rubbery and on and on).
She's worn a sweatyband for the past three days - including soccer. For us, the only way they could stay more, is if you used glue.
I'm probably going to make a few of my own. ;)
so how much are they in b &m stores?
So, is it the concensus that the thin ones hold hair better/stay in better?
I haven't seen them in a store, but there was a Sweaty Bands booth at an event I attended. I'm not in the same state as they are made in, so I assume the gals at the booth carry them in their local store?? Not sure.
They were the same price as online.
I ordered from Cambands on Etsy - they look cute. I will review when I get them!
