I am trying to get my first machine for free, but in case that does not pan out...Besides craigs list, any other sources? I just need one for home-dec sewing, perhaps a skirt or two if I completley lose my mind. Thanks in advance.

I got mine free just by asking around. Used older sewing machines don't have much street value, and it seems like everyone in my grandmother's generation owned one (but doesn't use it any more). My SIL got her first sewing machine free from a senior-aged co-worker.
Damn, if you lived closer, I have about 10 to choose from. I'm trying to thin the herd....
